Chapter 516 - 510: Risking Everything for Wealth and Honor

As his words faded into the air, the protective suit on his body began to transform. Soon, Finn was completely enveloped in the suit, with even the air he breathed being filtered by it. A faint blue light shined on him and his figure disappeared into thin air. Feeling his body lightly tremble, it was as if Finn had lost all sense of weight.

When the anti-gravity system activated, Finn jumped off the rooftop. He felt light as a feather and beneath him were the constantly running Parasite Humans. Although he activated the anti-gravity system, it didn’t entirely cancel out gravity, just reduced it, adjusting the diminished force according to his movements.

A month on the brink of death had sharpened his calmness and control, enabling him to utilize every bit of his bodily strength. Despite the crazed running of the Parasite Humans below, Finn accurately stepped onto the head of one, and with a little push of his right foot, he drifted swiftly forward.

Finn almost knocked the Parasite Human underneath him to the ground. However, he had already rushed ahead nearly tens of meters. As agile as a fictional martial arts master, Finn sped through the sea of frenzied Parasite Humans. His speed almost rivaled that of a cheetah’s, sixty to seventy kilometers an hour.

The Parasite Humans hardly reached half his speed. Nonetheless, Finn darted towards their meeting point, lightly stepping on their heads. While the Parasite Humans stumbled every once in a while, they did not cry out or react aggressively. Instead, after regaining balance, they simply continued running forward.

A frightening sense of discipline! Their discipline was so terrifying that it even unsettled Finn. Everything fell silent around him as he ignored the chaos and continued onwards. The fallen object seemed close, but it really wasn’t.

It wasn’t until Finn overtook the leading pack of Parasite Humans, he still hadn’t reached the destination. Yet, he didn’t stop and instead jumped to the ground and rushed ahead. He wasn’t afraid of losing direction as hordes of Parasite Humans constantly joined his ranks, madly converging towards a certain direction.

Lucky for him, the suit enhanced his physical capabilities and conserved his energy. Thanks to this and the activation of the anti-gravity system, he could maintain such a fast pace for over three hours. Less than twenty minutes ago, he encountered his first Insect Species. It was as big as a tiger but looked like a dog.

Its muscular limbs, formidable jaws, and overall physique indicated it was purely bred for battle. Its bones, which shined metallic in the sunlight, appeared to be made of iron alloys, and each was equipped with abrasive serrated teeth, giving its running speed an impressive count of over 100 kilometers per hour.

Only by increasing his own speed could Finn keep up with these doglike Insect Species. This, he thought, must be the most basic fighting unit of the Insect Species. If the basic units are this vicious, how terrifying would the advanced units be? Enveloped by his armor, he closed off his scent and other traces, preventing the Insect Species from discovering him.

However, these Insect Species appeared to have their mission. It took Finn more than six hours to realize he was closing in on his target. A swarm of Parasite Humans and various Insect Species units he had seen and not seen before were dotted around him. Most of them, however, were Parasite Humans. These Insect Species had stopped in their tracks, seeming to guard this place, cautioning Finn to not advance as recklessly as before.

He carefully activated the anti-gravity system again, completely offsetting gravity, and then slowly floated in. This place was a forest, but after climbing over a hill, Finn saw a shocking sight — hundreds of square kilometers of the forest were completely shattered. An enormous object, several kilometers in diameter and looking like a tadpole, was stuck on the ground, dissolving and releasing a dark purple substance, like spores, which spread across the ground.

When the dissolving matter finally hit the ground, it turned into a dark purple slime which continued to spread. The fallen trees appeared to be melted by this dark purple slime.

“Zero, what is this dark purple slime?” Finn asked directly. He was completely packed inside the suit now, so he wasn’t worried his voice would be transmitted out.

“An organic fluid filled with energy. It provides the energy necessary for the birth of the Insect Species.” Zero answered accurately.

“Does it corrode?” Finn asked with curiosity.

“It’s not corrosive, it’s a kind of dissolving. It can dissolve all other organic matter and turn it into organic fluid necessary for the evolution of the Insect Species.”

“Can I step on it?” The path ahead was flat. Neither the Insect Species units nor the Parasite Humans had stepped into this dark purple organic fluid. To Finn, it felt creepy.

“No problem, this organic fluid won’t dissolve non-organic material.”

“Good.” Finn didn’t need to step on it; he could just float in the air. Although he moved slowly due to the weak propulsion system of the suit, the anti-gravity system could make him float in the air, letting him travel forward at a speed of about ten kilometers per hour.

Soon after, Finn approached the huge, spore-like object. As he came closer, he noticed that the dark purple “spore” was not dissolving but peeling off layer by layer in an orderly manner from top to bottom.
