Chapter 499: Young People Don’t Pay Attention to Martial Virtue!

“Uncle Ma, 1 hope I’m not disturbing your rest!” Although Zhou Chao currently had a much stronger overall strength than Lao Ma, he still needed to address him properly due to their significant age difference.

“Not at all, young man. What brings you to call me? Are you planning to treat me to a meal?” Lao Ma’s hearty voice came through the phone.

“Well, how did you know? 1 arrived in Hangzhou this afternoon. Do you have time tomorrow for lunch? I’d like to treat you to a meal,” Zhou Chao replied, getting straight to the point.

“Tomorrow? That’s a bit inconvenient. 1 already made plans to have lunch with someone else tomorrow. How about you join us?”

“Is it okay for me, an outsider, to join?” Zhou Chao frowned slightly when he heard about others being present.

“Don’t worry, the Chinese women’s volleyball team just won the championship a few days ago, and they’ve returned to Hangzhou today. So, I’ve booked a celebration banquet at the Violet Hall. You can come and celebrate with those girls!”

Upon hearing this, Zhou Chao became interested. Lately, he had been struggling with the idea of venturing into the sports industry. The previous attempt to acquire a football club had encountered difficulties, so he had turned to buying a basketball team with the White Eagles Alliance. However, there had been no news or progress on that front. Now, with this opportunity presenting itself, Zhou Chao was starting to have some thoughts about it.

“Alright, I’ll be there tomorrow with my wife. But it seems like you’re the one treating me to a meal now!”

“Hahaha, it’s a small matter. Tomorrow at noon, at the Violet Hall!”

“Don’t stand me up!”

After hanging up the phone, Zhou Chao began to contemplate. According to his initial plan, his involvement in the sports industry was intended for rural areas. In simpler terms, it meant combining his charity organizations to build Hope Primary Schools while also providing dedicated basketball and football fields for the children. He hoped this initiative could potentially nurture some talented individuals. Unfortunately, the initial attempt to acquire a football club had failed, or else this part of his plan would have been accomplished long ago.

Suddenly, a pair of delicate hands silently pressed against Zhou Chao’s temples.

“What are you thinking about so deeply?”

“Oh, it’s nothing. I was just planning to invite Lao Ma for dinner, but it turns out he invited me instead. Tomorrow, he’s hosting a celebration for the Chinese women’s volleyball team, and we’re invited to join,” Zhou Chao replied, closing his eyes and enjoying Jiang Li’s soothing massage.

“I saw online that they won the championship. 1 didn’t expect to run into them in Hangzhou.”

“Yes, Lao Ma specially invited them.”

“Oh,” Jiang Li replied, not paying much attention to sports-related matters, so she wasn’t particularly excited.

Zhou Chao turned to look at Jiang Li with a mischievous smile on his face and teased, “It’s getting late, my lady. Let’s retire for the night!”

Jiang Li’s face turned red as she seemed to remember something. She rolled her eyes at Zhou Chao and gave a snort before heading towards the bedroom.

Seeing Jiang Li’s reaction, Zhou Chao couldn’t help but mutter to himself with a sly grin, “She says no but seems quite eager.”

With a playful smile, he jumped up from the sofa and quickly walked into the bedroom.

The night passed with tenderness and rain.

The next day, the two of them slept until the sun was high in the sky before getting out of bed. Although they hadn’t engaged in real combat the previous night, there had still been exercises. Jiang Li had fired several shots with the Type 92 pistol before finally falling asleep satisfied.

“All Li, it’s time to get up. We have a banquet to attend at noon.”

“Ah- 1 don’t want to get up. You’re such a bad person. My hands are still sore from last night. I don’t know why you’re so good at this,” Jiang Li replied, her tone slightly flirtatious.

Hearing his wife’s praise, Zhou Chao became somewhat proud. “Is it bad that your husband is skilled?”

Jiang Li simply ignored him, lifted the blanket, and exposed her snow-white skin to Zhou Chao’s eyes. The natural curves of her body were captivating, making Zhou Chao want to get closer.

Seeing the look in Zhou Chao’s eyes, Jiang Li knew exactly what he was thinking. She quickly grabbed some clothes to cover herself and said, “Don’t even think about it. I’m going to take a shower now. If you’re late later, don’t blame me.”

Glancing at the time, it was already past ten o’clock, and there was indeed no time for their usual shower games. But there was always the future.

“Hurry up, I’ll freshen up too.”

Before he could take a few steps, Zhou Chao noticed that Jiang Li had locked the bathroom door and said, “Go to the bedroom opposite to shower. 1 don’t trust you!”

“Do I really look so lascivious? Wifey, you’re overthinking it,” Zhou Chao said somewhat aggrieved.

“Hmph, I’m afraid I’m not thinking enough. You’re a bad man.”

Zhou Chao gently opened the door, only to find it locked. He shook his head helplessly and headed towards the opposite room.

The wait felt endless, and Zhou Chao had already finished showering and changed clothes. He had been sitting on the sofa playing on his phone for nearly half an hour, while Jiang Li was still in the room changing her clothes.

“All Li, are you ready? It’s already past eleven, and we might be late.”

A moment later, a voice came from the bedroom, “Don’t rush me. I’m almost done. You don’t want your wife to embarrass you, do you?”

Zhou Chao shook his head in resignation, feeling fortunate that his wife didn’t need to put on any makeup. Otherwise, it would have been a real ordeal.

Ten more minutes passed, and Zhou Chao was about to get up and see what was going on in the room when Jiang Li emerged wearing a more formal athletic outfit..
