Chapter 79: Passione Tavern

Although caught by surprise, the Sacred Beasts weren\'t fools, and their rise to power for the second time was just a matter of time.

The story of Draconia follows a simple plot where the main character is disguised as a descendant of a dragon with impure blood, but he is in fact a pure-blooded dragon.

The seal on his bloodline would loosen gradually as he grows progressively stronger.

With the long-term mission of growing strong enough to release the Dragon Ancestor from his shackles, Hiro must navigate the world of myriad races infested with both humans and magical beasts.

As a consequence of the war between the magical beasts, humans finally found their chance to intrude upon the territory of magical beasts, especially after the Sacred Beasts were dealt a heavy blow.

The lore was frighteningly vast, and Hiro realized that his earlier estimation was correct and that he would need a lot of time to finish this simulation.

Regardless, Hiro wasn\'t in a hurry this time around and so, he slowly began to familiarize himself with the game through the night and the following two days.

Hiro woke up on this day with this notification floating in front of him. Although he was a little surprised at first, Hiro quickly transitioned to confusion as he wondered why his job as an official didn\'t have a customized panel.

Tsk! Hiro clicked his tongue. Forget it, this matter is such a tall order, I better focus on my little tavern.

As the tavern had facilities such as lodging, rental rooms, a bar, and other miscellaneous services such as buying and selling information—the window designated for this job had plenty of panels.

There was also a panel that provided Hiro with custom services from the system for purchase, like protection and counter-sabotage measures.

The system also offered options to upgrade the rooms, the decor, a cleaning service, and plenty more.

"How come my company doesn\'t have such a panel?" Hiro was curious.

[Notice: The scale of your company is beyond the system\'s authority range.]

Hiro thought that it made sense. Comparing a small tavern to a great company with many affiliated businesses was a little too much.

He would have called the system lazy if it wasn\'t actively monitoring his private pocket dimension on a daily basis.

Hiro quickly got up and took a bath, preparing himself for the first day of business in the stronghold.

The universe, vast as it was, didn\'t rob the life within from common phenomena such as the ever-present cycle of day and night.

Even in a land infested with crawling demons and grotesque creatures, there was that sliver of beauty when the rays of dawn penetrated the deep, dimly lit sky during the late hours of a long night.

As a stronghold slowly transitioned into an industrial land, many demons young and old rose from their sleep at this hour.

Although most of them went out on their day to hunt, kill, fight, abuse, and practice their daily norms of being demons—some were slowly embracing the change education and constant influence on human culture brought upon them.

It wasn\'t that demons were creatures of low intelligence that lacked creativity, but it was rare to encounter a race like humans whom despite their wielding of great power, they kept the majority of their race in the dark.

This permitted the proliferation of pure traditions, even if they were useless practices to most.

Those great civilizations with intelligence had long since closed themselves off from the vast plane, and finding them was very difficult.

Even when found, the dangers were too great.

Unlike humans, whose curiosity outpaced their cautiousness, leading them to stumble upon the traces left behind by demons.

A race that didn\'t value the safety of their home met a homeless race who couldn\'t wait to find a stable land.

The outcome of their fateful encounter didn\'t have to be guessed.

Furthermore, the intensity of hunting and explorations had spiked up in the last few days—Hiro assumed that it had something to do with the six generals.

It could be said that although the plot to cause chaos in the stronghold failed, it had forced the hidden dragon to show its tail.

If they hadn\'t started preparing for a rainy day yet, then those high-ranking demons were truly foolish.

Hiro wouldn\'t complain, but the demons on the lower end of the statue spectrum would surely have bellies full of complaints.

Where should they vent these feelings?

Bars, inns, restaurants, and brothels.

In the last few days, the entertainment industry spiked in business, and it was in the midst of such a spike that Hiro\'s Passione Tavern opened.

Those in the trade caught wind of the opening day, and it was none other than their lack of understanding toward this new establishment that kept them from acting recklessly.

However, even if they didn\'t act recklessly, they\'d still go over for a drink to test things out.

When evening arrived, Hiro stood behind the counter while the five female demons took to their stations.

Two of them stood by the door to greet guests, two others stood in conspicuous corners and perked up their ears with eyes fully focused, and the last stood by the staircase leading upstairs.

When customers started to enter through the front door, one waitress gently explained the rules while the other displayed a parchment with the items on the menu.

Hiro was cleaning the glasses with different sizes labeled as M, L, and XL with a piece of cloth when he heard that familiar yet unfamiliar cry.

"Caw! Make way for this lord! Caw!"

His expression didn\'t change, but he started cursing in his heart. Don\'t you have anything better to do? Why are you here in a bar?!

The black raven flew past the customers and the two waitresses, circling around in the air for a little before landing on Hiro\'s shoulder.

Now, even if he beat people to death, no one would believe that his place had nothing to do with Asmir.

This is so infuriating!

Hiro smacked the black raven on his small head and scolded, "What are you doing here?!"

"Caw! You dare to hit this lord?! Are you looking to die?!"

Although the black raven said this, he didn\'t act and continued to perch on Hiro\'s shoulder.

His brown eyes swept the menu and other than the standard drinks available in every bar, there was one additional drink labeled as the passione special.

"Eh? What\'s this? Caw! Give me one of your passione special!"

Hiro also noticed this new addition, and he immediately recognized it as an addition from the system.

The panel did offer recipes for drinks and beverages, and this one was for free.

Inspecting the drinks rack, he found an array of bottles with a new bottle added to the mix.

To make things easier, there was a label on the bottle, something that was incongruous with the style of the other alcoholic beverages.

"Bloodstained Glass? What\'s with this name?" Hiro mumbled to himself, but he still answered the black raven. "Pay up first!"

The black raven went mad. "Caw! What do you take me for?! Do you think this lord wouldn\'t pay?!"

Hiro didn\'t care.

The currency in the Demon Realm was different between each stronghold, as the relationships between them were too chaotic.

Each lord had their own thoughts and aspirations, turning each stronghold into a micro-society—an independent country with its own schools of thought.

In Asmir\'s stronghold, the currency was silver and gold, and above that was the currency of rare minerals and ore.

The system spent three days to make a clear distinction in value, and eventually, Hiro learned that each gold coin gained was an achievement point earned.

However, each of the standard drinks was sold in the range of 3 to 9 silver coins, with a gold coin amounting to 1,000 silver coins.

The Bloodstained Glass was sold for 20 silver coins, which means that Hiro had to sell 50 special drinks to earn an achievement point.

Looking at the haggard and exhausted demons who looked like they could barely fork out 10 silver coins, Hiro felt heartache.

With that in mind, he was even more ruthless as he said, "If you don\'t pay upfront, you can forget about it!"

The black raven was mad. "What\'s our relationship?! Even if I don\'t pay you now, it\'s because I can\'t carry money on me! Allow this lord to patronize your shopfront for you this once, you won\'t lose out!"

Hiro didn\'t speak. Instead, he pointed toward the rule that stated: "We don\'t accept buying on credit!"
