Chapter 1364: Chaotic Sea of Stars and the Twin Star Pirates
Chapter 1364: Chaotic Sea of Stars and the Twin Star Pirates
Shang Xia didn’t do anything after getting rid of the first assault. He found it a pity that despite the layers of formations, he was still able to feel the impact of the battle. During intense exchanges, the rocking of the Star Ship would become so intense it was impossible for him to craft talismans. In the end, he decided to simply cultivate.
Since the Crimson Soul Tablet absorbed the world origin of the Essence Xing World, it has been producing high-quality and pure energy. In the short 7 days of cultivation on board the Star Ship, Shang Xia felt his cultivation rising by close to what it would be in a month of ordinary cultivation using the world origin of the Spirit Luxuriant World.
Calming himself down to circulate his inner qi, he discovered it circulated 30 percent faster than before. When he sank into a state of enlightenment, 4 short days were all he needed to obtain a month’s worth of ordinary cultivation.
By the time the Star Ship emerged from the streams of chaotic space, another month had passed. Of course, with its exit meant that they had left the Essence Xing Heavenly Field.
Shang Xia finally stepped out of his cabin after a month.
Hearing the news, Gong Zhuo rushed over as quickly as he could. As soon as he arrived, he cried out, “If we actually took the spatial tunnels in the Heavenly Field that led out of the region of space, the journey would have taken 10 days at best. Even if we dally, it won’t take more than half a month. It would have been a lot safer too... After all, the high-level experts of our world would clear out the place of any threats.”
Shang Xia nodded slowly. His expression sank a little, but he continued to ask, “Does your Essence Xing Heavenly Field possess the inheritance of the Heaven Observation Sect of the past?”
Gong Zhuo clearly didn’t think that Shang Xia would ask something like that, and he was obviously taken aback for a moment. His expression changed slightly and he muttered, “Are you talking about the Stargazer inheritance?”
Since Shang Xia brought it up, he didn’t beat about the bush. “I heard that Stargazers are able to lock on to regions of space in the vast sea of stars. They should also be able to determine a safe path through the streams of chaotic space. I don’t know how true those rumors are, and I wish to verify them.”
“Oh.” Gong Zhuo raised an eyebrow slightly, “True Immortal Shang, does your world know some things about the Heaven Observation Sect?”
Shaking his head, Shang Xia sighed, “I barely took part in the struggles between the factions and I don’t know too much about things like that. The only thing I managed to do is to eke out a living with my understanding in the art of crafting talismans. As for Stargazers... There might be something about them in the Dao Field, but they’re acting really arrogant just because they have rank five Stargazers. Heh... They even dare to take advantage of the rest of us!”
As he spoke, the sneer on his face grew wider and wider and his displeasure became apparent.
Gong Zhuo seemed to have thought of something because of his reaction.
I’m afraid True Immortal Shang clashed with their Grand Stargazers and suffered quite a bit... That is why he hates them so much. That might also be why he was exiled...
Before Gong Zhuo could respond, Zhang Shun’s voice came from the side, “Oh? True Immortal Shang, you actually have beef with the Stargazers of your world’s Dao Field... Please, take my advice. If your grudge isn’t something that cannot be resolved, it would be best not to clash with them.”
Shang Xia’s expression darkened. “Director Zhang, it seems like you know something about them I don’t. Is there a secret behind being a Stargazer?”
“Haha... Looks like the Dao Field of your world kept everything about being a Stargazer a secret. It’s no wonder you suffered at their hands.” Zhang Shun laughed.
Shang Xia snorted in contempt, and he seemed to be pouting at the side, not willing to respond to that.
Zhang Shun didn’t push it. Instead, he continued, “Of course the various Heavenly Fields have Stargazer inheritances. However, the most orthodox sect with the greatest Stargazer inheritance is the Heaven Observation Sect you spoke about.”
“It’s just that... The Heaven Observation Sect met with a great calamity close to 1,000 years ago. Their sect was destroyed and their inheritance was scattered. In the end, they disappeared completely. Everyone lost the tracks of the last Star Origin Lord and the complete inheritance should be gone.” Zhang Shun concluded.
Shang Xia raised an eyebrow curiously and gasped, “Oh? Star Origin Lord? Lost his tracks?”
Zhang Shun looked at the confused look on Shang Xia’s face and shook his head slowly. “True Immortal Shang, have you heard of the Heaven Observation Field?”
Pausing slightly, Shang Xia muttered after a short moment, “Director Zhang, have you also heard about the Heaven Observation Field? I once heard about it from the members of the Dao Field in my world, and I asked a few more questions because I was curious and...”
Shang Xia didn’t continue. However, Zhang Shun and Gong Zhuo’s imagination made up the rest of the story for them. They felt that they discovered Shang Xia’s secret which caused him to flee to seek refuge in the Star Beast Nest. Clearly, he didn’t gain the advantage in the exchange.
“Hehe...” Zhang Shun chuckled. “It’s said that it was where the last Star Origin Lord of the Heaven Observation Sect fled to. In the past, the Heaven Observation Field disappeared into the sea of stars and no one has found their tracks for more than 1,000 years. No matter how we tried, we failed. It’s even said that many high-level True Immortals were lost while looking for it.”
Shang Xia raised an eyebrow and quickly shot several questions in succession, “Why are so many people trying to look for the Heaven Observation Field? Is it for the Star Origin Lord or the inheritance of the Heaven Observation Sect?”
Zhang Shun didn’t respond immediately. Instead, he asked a question of his own. “True Immortal Shang, I believe you have been keeping that question bottled up for a long time, right? Has there really never been anyone from your Essence Ping World curious about the Heaven Observation Field?”
Hesitating slightly, Shang Xia eventually replied, “It’s said that my world used to be a Spirit World. During its ascension, it was said that the Stargazers played a huge role. Also... Hmph, those bastards are the reason I ran off to the Star Beast Nest near your world.”
“True Immortal Shang, I’m sure you are clear about the effects of the growth of the world and the help it would bring to your native cultivators. A Stargazer is able to accelerate the growth of a world and you shouldn’t underestimate them.” Zhang Shun nodded as though he understood everything.
Shang Xia nodded instinctively, but he seemed to snap back to his senses to ask, “Since you already have Stargazers, why are you looking for the Heaven Observation Field?”
“I said it before... The inheritance of the Heaven Observation Sect is the most complete and orthodox. Well, the main reason is because their inheritance reaches up to the sixth rank.” Zhang Shun chuckled.
Shang Xia seemed to fall deep in thought and he gasped the next moment, Wait. Does none of the powers in the various worlds possess a single rank six Stargazer?”
Zhang Shun shook his head and sighed, “Maybe there might be some in ancient Heavenly Fields. However, after the Heaven Observation Sect was exterminated, I never heard of any faction producing a rank six Stargazer. Many people have run into bottlenecks. I have not heard of another rank six Stargazer born since then. The various Heavenly Fields are waiting for the reappearance of the Heaven Observation Field and it’s said that they only managed to hide for so many years because of a secret art of the Heaven Observation Sect.”
It was the first time Shang Xia heard about the Heaven Observation Field from other high-level True Immortals of other Heavenly Fields. Those secrets were something Song Zhen and the like wouldn’t be able to learn, and he seemed to have uncovered some secrets. They clearly didn’t think that he was someone from the Heaven Observation Field.
About the rank six Stargazer inheritance...
Shang Xia thought to himself.
Even though the strongest Stargazers in the Heaven Observation Field were of the fifth rank.
Perhaps there was some truth in Zhang Shun’s words about the inheritance being lost. After all, there really wasn’t a single rank six Grand Stargazer.
The only problem was that no one knew where to start looking for the rank six Stargazer inheritance.
Shang Xia thought back to the Star Map, and the real Essence Ping World. There was also the Star Origin Lord who was trying to take over the Essence Ping World’s Will...
“True Immortal Shang? True Immortal Shang!” Gong Zhuo’s voice interrupted his train of thought.
“Oh? Is something the matter?” Shang Xia quickly snapped back to reality and chuckled with some slight embarrassment, “Apologies. I was too surprised by what Director Zhang revealed. True Immortal Gong, you were saying?”
Gong Zhuo laughed softly in response. “I was curious and wanted to know why you would bring up Stargazers! Is it because of the passages that were established out of the Essence Xing Heavenly Field?”
Shang Xia nodded and wanted to answer, but they suddenly felt strange fluctuations coming from the void not too far away.
Shang Xia wasn’t the only one who was surprised. Gong Zhuo and Zhang Shun were also drawn to the sudden change.
That was actually a method the Wanyun Association used to transmit simple messages through the vast sea of stars.
Looks of joy appeared on their faces.
Zhang Shun muttered in a low voice soon after, “They’re here.”
Gong Zhuo looked solemn and he nodded slowly, “They’re finally here...”
Shang Xia understood that they were probably referring to their alliance mates.
However, from how the Star Ships of the Wanyun Association were gathering together and hovering about the region of chaotic space without going further, it was obvious they were guarded against their allies.
Shang Xia couldn’t help but think about the attack by the Beast Warrior right after they entered the streams of chaotic space. Even though Zhang Shun didn’t say anything about it, the matter had been at the back of their minds the entire time. Whatever it was, the Wanyun Association wouldn’t get careless on matters like that.
Shang Xia had also been thinking to himself about what would happen if the fleet was attacked and he wasn’t there.
Without a doubt, the Wanyun Association would still emerge victorious, but the price they would have paid would be far larger. There was no way they would only lose a layer of structures on the fourth ship.
When the Wanyun Association hired him back then, they were planning to use him as a trump card in case anything like that happened. He discovered that Gong Zhuo and Zhang Shun had been concealing his presence the whole time. Even when he fought in the first battle, he only appeared above the Star Ship for a brief moment before Zhang Shun arrived.
Shang Xia decided not to return to his cabin after bidding farewell to Zhang Shun and Gong Zhuo. Instead, he stood at the edge of the vessel to look into the sea of stars.
No one knew how long had passed, but another massive Star Ship fleet arrived in the distance. It closed in slowly on them.
When the distance between both sides was barely hundreds of miles, the other fleet started to slow to a stop.
Both sides maintained a safe distance from each other.
Shang Xia saw several streaks of light coming from the Wanyun Association’s fleet as they approached their allies.
Narrowing his eyes, Shang Xia extended his divine soul into the depths of the void. Hee discovered that the Wanyun Association mobilized 4 people in total. Other than Gong Zhuo and Zhang Shun, the other 2 were at the second and third tier respectively.
Their auras were quickly detected by the other side and they also sent 4 True Immortals. Clearly, both sides sent out 2 high-level True Immortals and 2 other True Immortals. With his divine soul creeping closer, Shang Xia discovered that the other side sent out 2 high-level True Immortals at the fourth tier. The other 2 were in the second tier. Surprisingly, there was a strange resonance between the auras of their high-level True Immortals and eventually, Shang Xia determined that they were twins despite not being able to see their appearances.
He thought about Song Zhen’s introductions to the Chaotic Sea of Stars and the more famous Star Pirate groups. The ones meeting the Wanyun Association were clearly a powerful force called the Twin Star Pirates!
That was the name they used to wreak havoc in the sea of stars, and people normally called them the Double Pirates, or simply the Twin Pirates. Whatever it was, it was clear their fighting strength came from their resonance as twins.
It was said that they found a special inheritance during their journey that had been left behind by a pair of twins. The inheritance was complete, and not only were they able to gain a powerful and unique cultivation method for themselves, they would also be able to display the might of experts stronger than themselves when they worked together. That was how they built up their Star Pirate force.
